Clean hands and dirty hands
The brown eye and the blue
Pale cheeks and rosy cheeks
Jesus loves you
If you come to Him today
He will wash your tears away
Just dropped by to hurl something onto the Calliope. A little something from the soundtrack for "The Proposition"
I could totally wuss out and refer you back to an old post in which I wax on about how much I love the OST to The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou.
Or, I could just give you the link to all my (numerous) audio files tagged "Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou."
But, NO, Dave needs an explanation. Sigh..
.
The explanation:
Mark Mothersbaugh & Devo (I'm just from that place in time where Devo (et al) SPEAKS to me.)
David Bowie (Can't help meself)
Seu Jorge covering David Bowie (So very sweet and strange)
Iggy & The Stooges (A lifelong addiction)
The Zombies (My Favorite Zombies song, EVAR.)
Paco de Lucia (Makes me dance like a person posessed)
Sven Libaek (Dreamy... sigh)
Joan Baez (Tired of being tired of Joan. I submit.)
Scott Walker (Weird guy, cool song)
'Nuff said?
Here are three Bowie covers by Seu Jorge (with ugly icons from days of yore):
I got this loverly item by defacing a book. (gasp!) This is from the back of a Peter Pan "Read Along" Book andRecord called The A-Team and the Maltese Cow.
From the back cover:
Let "The A-Team" take you on a new adventure-- reading! It's do easy and so much fun to read along with our recording! Every word in the full-color book is also on the recording and a signal tells you exactly when to turn the page.
Join the A-Team, and get into the real action of learning to read.
This is a special edition of Bookmark Friday because we have accompanying muzeek!
Here's a song I hadn't heard in a while:
"Vehicle" by Ides of March.
Imagine my delight when I found out that sassy Shirley Bassey covered it on Something Else.
And for good measure...
It's such a cold finger!
And no amout of cowbell will fix it.
~ Joe Buck (Midnight Cowboy)
It appears that I have conquered the tag problem with my MP3s.
Does anybody have a suggestion about how I can easily convert various other unprotected sound files into good old MP3s?
UPDATE: ALMOST ALL MY TECHINCAL DIFFICULTIES HAVE BEEN RESOLVED!
Now with fixed sound and vision goodness!
